Yes, I was in trouble with this. It seems that avatars do not exist in twtd's options. I'm updating my avatar from twtxt.app, but it's not reflected in the text file.

@prologic The cause of this has been identified. I put the URL into the twtxt.app Avatar URL, but it didn't appear in the text file. Instead, it was reflected by uploading an avatar.

@balloon-fu-sen Fixed! 🥳 The Avatar URL field now actually gets written to your feed's # avatar = metadata. Turned out it needed changes in both the app and twtd itself — so you'll want to update your twtd instance once the new build lands. Thanks for the report! 🙏
